कोविड-19 से बचाव के लिए मास्क लगाने और भौतिक दूरी का पालन करने के अलावा एक और अहम सुझाव दिया गया है कि बार-बार साबून से हाथ की सफाई करनी चाहिए। मास्क और सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग का तो पालन लोग फिर भी कर लें, लेकिन हाथ धोने की बात देश के ज्यादातर इलाकों के लिए व्यावहारिक नहीं है क्योंकि इन इलाकों में पीने के पानी की घोर किल्लत है, फिर हाथ धोने के लिए पानी कहां से मिले।

उत्तराखंड विज्ञान शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान केंद्र (यूसर्क) और ‘नौला फ़ाउंडेशन’ के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में परंपरागत पहाड़ी जल स्रोतों, नौले-धारों के संरक्षण एवं संवर्धन पर ऑनलाइन वेबिनार का आयोजन किया गया। ‘नौला-धारों का विज्ञान’ विषय पर आयोजित वेबिनार में लोगों ने पहाड़ के लोगों के जीवनरेखा नौले-धारों को पुनर्जीवित करने को जरूरी बताया। 10 मई 2020 को हुए आयोजन में देश भर के हिमालयी स्प्रिंग्स के जानकार
