The water and sanition chapter of this report includes all data on Maharashtra water status. It provides data on total length of rivers, water demand of major cities, waste generation and disposal of the cities, ground water availability pre and post monsoon and the like.

The report provides data on distribution of of households by distance to the source of drinking water, type of bathroom, households having no bathroom by distance of the dwelling from the bathing place, type of use of latrine facility.

The study provides information on sanitation situation and practices in Pandharpur town of Maharashtra, which is a pilgrimage site. It includes data on number of toilets, their location, population and peak flow, sewage generated annually, treatment system and suggested ways of improvement.

Status of disease prevaleance compared to water and sanitation coverage in each state. Percentage cases of disease like Diarroea, Cholera, Hepatitis A and entric fever are covered. Death cases due to maleria for each state from 2001 - 2005. A detail study on diseases have been done for the state of West Bengal.

Study on hygiene and sanitation practice in two districts of Madhya pradesh - Dhar and Khargone. Various surveys are carried out showing information on use of toilet, washing hands, treatment of drinking water, diarrhoea rate and water related health issues.

Yearly progress of household toilets coverage since 2001 Census till date. Total households with and without toilets of all districts of the country, from 2001 till date.

Targets and current status of sanitary infrastructure construction under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) of all districts across India. This data covers details about household latrines (APL and BPL), school and balwadi toilets, Rural Sanitary Marts. The target to be reached and current status of each district is provided. The data is updated on daily basis.
