In this workshop, our international fundraising experts - Julian Marland and Surat Sandhu - will introduce participants to the basic principles of major gift fundraising, which has been such a success in American universities for many decades, and is now being successfully adopted in other not-for-profit sectors in many other countries. They will demystify the process of asking for large amounts of money and give participants examples of successful strategies.

Water is the climate challenge and it poses a major risk for the water security of the citizens of India. The Challenge varies across States and is eliciting a wide range of responses from the stakeholders at different levels.

That encourages having greeneries around, that forces to show concerns for environment and ecology and that urges to look for safe and functional vegetables, fruits and so on. Sometimes, this gene gets masked by certain extraneous factors which need to be unmasked to draw everyone’s attention.

This week-long initiative will bring together theoretical debates and existing practices, enabling an interdisciplinary exploration of the systems, processes and values that drive the development of cities. The Institute will be conducted by an inter-disciplinary Indian and international faculty of academics and practitioners for the selected 40 applicants. Applicants should either have completed or be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters programme in any discipline. The Institute is also open to professionals from relevant fields.
