The 24^th National Convention of Institution of Public Health Engineers (India) on the theme “Water & Sanitation Utility Services in India and their health implications” will be organised by IPHE(I), Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar during 12^th -13^th  February,2011.

Dr Rupela in his keynote address to the organic farming association of India does mention SRI along with several other desirable practices for a 'cool' or climate friendly agriculture. Some of us met him recently at the national workshop. Let us hope this article and his work will inspire many more researchers to work closely with farmers on sustainable agriculture.

In our current situation, we might be seeking different things. Thus, it brings about a dialogue between what we are and what we want to be. It does not posit happiness in an after-world, but here and now, based on a "humanness" common to all human beings. The approach is rational, secular and universal.

The participants are welcome from people’s organisation, community based organizations and NGOs from South East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and Mekong Region who does not have specific professional knowledge on environment, but have initial ADB project monitoring experience and working with related documents and who needs practical knowledge of environment monitoring and environment impact assessment under any ADB and other IFIs funded projects in respective countries.
