350.org is looking for two interns to join its India campaign based in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. 350.org works with multiple organizations in India and with a South Asian focus, aims to raise public awareness about the climate crisis and strengthen the region’s environmental movements.

It originates from Pothigai hills in Western Ghat and drains at Punnaikayal afer running nearly 140 km. Its catchment gets rainfall during both SWM & NEM period. Ever year [or atleast once in every 18 month] the river is in full floods. During such period nearly 5000 cusec pure water is drained out to sea.

Video Volunteers launched its community news service, IndiaUnheard, on 3rd of May 2010. Since then, we have trained 45 people to be community correspondents, voices of an India beyond the margins. We’re looking for passionate community members whom we can train to become the voice of their communities.

Post independence, this ‘way of life’ gradually transformed into an assured annual devastation. The once self-sufficient communities in the flood plains have been relegated to being highly dependent on sources external to the village for their survival during floods.
