The three day National Conference will look into the scientific and social challenges as well as implications of climate change on sustainability of environmental and natural resources. It aims to deliberate on the opportunities and challenges to the emerging global scenario of natural resource management with special reference to Indian Sub-continent. Eminent speakers and experts in the field of climate change, earth and atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, energy and economics will suggest long-term strategies for aligning environmental, social and economic goals of sustainability. Discussion will be held on environmental management strategies available to them and how these can be used to gain long-term competitive advantage. One of the major objective of this conference would be to initiate a multidisciplinary approach to understand the regional and global forcing functions of climate change and response of natural systems and then to develop India-centric strategies for mitigation and adaptation.
The conference is being organized on Scientist-People Partnership basis wherein invited distinguished scientists, delegates and guests are proposed to participate in people awareness drive-tree plantations to support ‘Green India’ (Govt. of India) and ‘Green Earth’ (SES) campaigns, interaction with students and exhibition on ‘Green Energy’ in addition to scientific deliberations.
