About the Position

In this pivotal role, you will drive our mission to influence policy, programs, and investments to create an enabling environment for solving India's water security challenges.

WaterAid India is a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming lives by improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. The organisation focuses on marginalised and vulnerable communities, striving to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to these essential services.

In developing countries, it is extremely difficult to strike a balance between the competing priorities of socioeconomic and environmental goals within water utilities. India's water industry struggles with problems like budget deficits, accessibility restrictions, and poor service standards.

Arghyam is looking for a motivated, passionate, and hands-on leader to work with actors in the water ecosystem to enable the scale of solutions to solve the imminent water crisis amidst the climate challenge in India.

The Jal Jeevan Mission is in its final year, with a target to provide a functional household tap to every household by 2024. As of August 2023, 67% of households had been provided with a tap connection. However, approximately six crore households, accounting for 33%, are still awaiting a tap connection providing a 55-lpcd service.
