This document is a bill by Ministry of Water Resources is to amend the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) of 1974. The objective of this bill is to address the pressing problem of river pollution and increasing contribution of municipal sewage that is discharged to rivers. The objectives of the bill are:
Central empowered committee (CEC) submits preliminary report on illegal mining in Goa - Roundup of news (December 3 – December 9, 2012)
The illegal mining issue in Goa, release of water from Karnataka, protests against garbage disposal plants in Karnataka, organic agriculture in Sikkim by 2015 and other news.

Central empowered committee (CEC) submits preliminary report on illegal mining in Goa
Seminar by CGWB on National Project on Aquifer Management stresses the need for a paradigm shift in groundwater sector from development to management
A two day seminar on National Project on Aquifer Management (NAQUIM) was organized by the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) at A P Shinde Hall, NASC Complex, ICAR, Pusa, New Delhi during 8th and 9th October, 2012. It provided a platform for exchange of ideas among various stakeholders including planners and administrators from various ministries of Government of India, Central and State Government organizations and NGO’s. The seminar comprised of deliberations on identified issues such as the steps involved in aquifer mapping, role of state agencies, participatory management, water quality data and related inputs.

Behaviour change towards sanitation and education, through art and drama
India is the open defecation capital of the world, where people have more mobile phones then toilets, having easy access to banks as compared to toilets. Open defecation is a big concern and a big issue to be addressed which still is not that touched upon subject among the community. As people here do not wants to talk about this issue. People in many part of the villages here make there homes without the toilets as they don’t see any use of it even if they have money to build it, instead of this they go out and defecate in the open , without knowing the ill effects and consequences of it on their health and environment.
