CDD Society –Organisational Profile: The Consortium for DEWATS Dissemination (CDD) Society is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Bangalore, operating through 2 Regional Coordination Offices at Chennai and Nagpur respectively and a network of about 25 NGO Partners in 8 States across in India.

Proposals for workshop paper and poster presentations for the World Water Week are welcome from experts and actors in different disciplines. The deadline for abstract submittal is February 15, 2010 . Abstracts are welcome on the specific workshop themes listed below and described on pages 10-13.

CDD is organising a 3 days training on DEWATS Project Management from 6th to 8th January 2010 in Bangalore. The main objective of the training is to introduce decision makers to specific project management skills required for planning, financing, implementing and managing DEWATS projects.

The various initiatives taken up include setting up a monitoring and reporting system to keep track of the water usage, increasing the reverse osmosis plant efficiency, rainwater harvesting, treating sewage and reusing treated water and more.

The various efforts taken up include water balancing/audit, supply and distribution of water through out the plant at required quality & quantity parameters, water recirculation & conservation, complete chemical treatment, converting waste water into makeup water grade, recovery of metallurgical waste and recycling of water, strengthening cooling system in c

The various initiatives taken up include utilising backwash water for developing Jatropha plantations, recovering waste water, ground water recharging, utilisation of waste steam and reducing steam consumption, increasing cycle of concentration in all cooling towers and more.

 The various efforts taken up include reducing water usage and effluent generation, rainwater harvesting, treating and reusing effluent, reducing chemical usage, reducing ETP sludge, implementing zero discharge and more.
