The principles and ideas presented have been shown to be effective in increasing the capacity of water, and are based on extensive experience in upgrading a variety of treatment plants throughout the world. The procedures proposed apply not only to the optimization of existing treatment plants but also to the design of new ones.

This deals with the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) which has been developed as an efficient and cost-efficient solution to meet Singapore’s long-term needs for used water collection, treatment, reclamation and disposal. Conceptualised and managed by PUB, it was conceived as a cost-effective and sustainable solution to meet Singapore’s long-term used water needs.

This presentation deals with a case study of rainwater harvesting of Thane city of Maharashtra. It begins with a discussion of the Environmental Status Report of the Thane Municipal Corporation for the year 1999-2000 which states that all the groundwater is non potable.  AUTHORITY ENSURES DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS IN SUSTAINABLE MANNER ENSURING ECOLOGICAL FLOWS IN GANGA

The Government today announced the setting up of a National Ganga River Basin Authority. A statement to this effect was made in Parliament by Shri Namo Narain Meena, Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment & Forests. A Notification in this regard is also being issued by the Government.
