Inauguration of the conference
Around 350 participants including eminent scientists, agricultural experts and students participated in the event. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Oommen Chandy. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister, highlighted that development and environment were linked and that the approach to the cause of agriculture and environment needed to be realistic since the state could not neglect both development and environment. He also pointed out that Kerala was one state having a very high reputation in preserving and protecting the forest cover, which was much higher than the national average in the state. This was possible due to the will and awareness of the people of Kerala. He emphasised the need for a more realistic approach to deal with issues related to the agriculture and environment.

Chetna Organic is a project of the Forum for Integrated Development (FFID).
Revitalising Rainfed Soils
The project Revitalising Rainfed Soils (RRS) of the RRA Network is anchored by Chetna Organic and is designed to improve the productivity of soils in rainfed regions. Dr Anupam Mishra’s booklet , “Kund - Etijyomoyer jaler etijyo”, a Bengali translation of the original in Hindi, describes the ideas and principles that lie behind this legacy of conserving water in an environment bereft of this precious natural resource.

Posted on 31 Aug, 2012 07:57 PMआधुनिक विज्ञा के अनुसार सृष्टि के आरम्भ ,में पृथ्वी पर ओज़ोन आवरण नही था. धीरे धीरे जबय्ह आवरण बना तब इस के पश्चात हीपृथ्वी पर जीवन सम्भव हो सका. इस आवरण कोबनाए रखने के लिए वन सम्पदा पेड़ों इत्यादि का सब से महत्व पूर्ण दायित्व है. आश्चर्य होगा कि इस बात को ऋग्वेद में राजा के प्रजा के कर्तव्यों में प्राथमिकता दे कर कैसे बताया है. कृपया स्वयं देखिये.(यह लेख मैंने अंग्रेज़ी मे लिखा था)
