Meghalaya is faced with environmental challenges and serious natural resource degradation such as forest, land and water. This along with climate change has serious implications for natural resource-based livelihood systems on which the majority of its population depends.

A recent study on the impact of COVID-19 on migrant workers in India indicates that almost 75% of the surveyed workers did not have any source of income after the lockdown and almost 45% reported difficulty due to food shortages.

Located in the Bichhiya block of Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh, Changariya is a small village comprising 265 households.
