Gramalaya, a voluntary organization establishes Water Technology Park on the occassion of World Water Day
Posted on 28 Mar, 2011 05:04 PMA Water Technology Park, established by Gramalaya, a voluntary organization at its Institute of Water and Sanitation at Kolakudipatti, was declared open on the occasion of World Water Day.
The park provides an opportunity for local communities, health practitioners, voluntary organizations and government officials to learn about water sources, treatment and conservation.

This set of presentations from the conference on Outstanding Organic Agriculture Techniques held during September 2009 at Bangalore deals with methods for promoting plant health through organic farming.
Healthy fields: Managing plant health
This presentation by S R Sundaraman of Tamil Nadu Farmers Technology Association, Erode on managing plant health begins with an account of the techniques that can be employed in TNRH 29 rice through organic SRI methods. The following are recommended in harvesting stage – (a) four irrigations with fruit gaudi (b) two applications of MEM (c) application of four sprays and (d) four applications of parasites. The growth promoters used are Archea solution, Concentrated Amudham Sol, Panchakavya, Butter Milk Sol, Fish/Egg Extract, Leaf Extract Solution-pest control and TFPE-MN Supplements. Apart from rice, the other crops dealt with are maize, kadali banana, turmeric, sugarcane and vegetables.

Posted on 04 Mar, 2011 02:55 PMFrom 25th to 27th of Feb.- 2011, the Arul Anandar College of Karumathur conducted National Science Mela 2011: Youth for Science and Science for prosperity on Eco - water, Sanitation and Hygiene with the support of National Council for Science & Technology Communication, DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology and Tamil Nadu Science City Chennai.
iGREEN was invited for this Science Mela and put a stall and explained about the carbon effect to the participants. Mr. Francis Xavier - Convener of iGREEN explained the Science of 350 campaign and How to reduce the carbon effect from the atmosphere with the support of our iGREEN Scientist Mr. Abdul Azis and Mr. John Bosco, Assistant Prof. of Rural Development Science in Arul Anandar College to the participants.

Posted on 14 Feb, 2011 10:08 AMNilgiri Wildlife and Environment Association (NWEA) is conducting a Wildlife Census for Nilgiris North, Nilgiris South and Gudalur Forest Divisions from February 25 -27. This is a count for all mammals.
Over 100 volunteers are needed for this count which is simultaneously done in three Forest divisions with support and guidance of the Forest Department.
