Description: Aaranyak and River Research Centre, Kerala are organising a one-day workshop with support from the International Rivers on environmental flow in Northeast. A primer on the what, why and how of environmental flows is being published by the International Rivers (IR), authored by Latha Anantha from the River Research Centre and Parineeta Dandekar from the South Asia Network on Dams, Rivers and People (SANDRP).
Topics: Environmental Flow is increasingly gaining importance as a tool for assessing health of riverine ecosystems as well as a criterion of decision making in giving clearance to projects that have impact on rivers. The said workshop is expected to raise awareness about the concept, various methods of assessing E-flow and related debate and discourse.
