dear all, I have sent several mail to concern department including minster jairam romesh regarding the Protecting PILI river , due to filling pond , taal , river land , dam to a river land encroachment in my village KOPA , Unfortunately, I still haven't received my reply . Please be advice that all the vancant land of lake/taal has been occupied by big people and even old pond which was connected to PILI river had been filled up , and vacant land has been unauthorisely caputured by rich people ,traditional old dam made of soil is captured by previous gram pradhan one big lake/taal which is partly filled and school is opened and connection of lake and river with dam is now totaly vanished . Private nuisance is a continuous. The protection of natural resources is core to the concept of sustainable development, where socioeconomic development must be accompanied by environmental protection, so that the needs of the future are not compromised. The PILI River in pratapgarh has decayed due to both natural and human factors. The attempt to revive the river is therefore a significant case to study as there is much academic interest in water – a significant natural resource. The pili river is a more considerable and has perennial flow .it has its origin in a sting of jhils, taal , in paragana, chanada , kopa, dawoodpur, pratapgarh district. after trasversing the singramau taluqa it is joined by the tambura , a small stream which rises in pratapgarh and some more distance from the boundry of the district.the combined river pass in a south-easterly direction and joins the GOMATI at dariogabj . the PILI has very tortous course and it banks are fringed with ravines , the affluent of the PILI is a small stream known lakhia which rises in some lake in the eastern half of pargana and flows eastwards . it joins the PILInear the village of rari kalan please also note the water cycle is also affected due to decay of PILI river . Because it get the water from TAAL, JHIL , rainwater through their dam and release it into the PILI river. When part of a JHIL , TALL is removed,PILI river no longer get water , resulting in a much drier flow of water . Cutting off the taal , pond and jhil reduces the content of water in the PILI river . Pili river enhance the recharge of aquifers in some locales, Shrinking of PILI river cover lessens the forest capacity to intercept, retain and transpire precipitation. Instead of trapping precipitation, which then percolates to groundwater systems, our area becomes sources of surface water runoff, which is moving much faster than subsurface flows. That quicker transport of surface water can translate into flash flooding Decay of PILI river also contributes to decreased evapotranspiration, which lessens atmospheric moisture and it lost in runoff drying up of PILI river in general, affect the water cycle significantly: disconnection of TAAL , JHIL slow down surface runoff;that affect the capacity of soil to store water. As a result, the presence or absence of TAAL , JHILL can change the quantity of water on the surface, in the soil or groundwater, or in the atmosphere. This in turn changes the availability of water for either ecosystem functions or human services. Absence of TAAL , JHIL may have little impact on flooding in the case of large rainfall events, which overwhelm the storage capacity of rainfall if the JHIL are well conected to PILI river . Hope all of you can raise your voice to help us to bring our PILI river in his original shape which was there 30 yrs before Thanking you Sabhajit Yadav
