The report explains India's perspective on climate change, the rationale behind its policies and potential areas for taking action to address climate change. Produced by the Ministry of Envirionment and Forests, Government of India, India, Climate-friendly development lists India's perspective on climate change concerns and challenges, and how its policies aim to balance environmental protection and development and other issues. Countries who are part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) report on the efforts taken to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and the impact of their results.

In this context, the report 'Greenhouse Gas emissions from India, A perspective' provides the India perspective on steps and results taken to address climate change through reforms in greenhouses gases emission. The report is written by Subodh Sharma, of the MEF, India, Sumana Bhattacharya, Project Management Cell, India's Initial National Communication to the UNFCCC and Amit Garg of UNEP, RISO Centre. There is also a factsheet developed by Centre For Science and Environment on impact of climate change in Western India.
