शिकागो यूनिवर्सिटी की रिपोर्ट एयर क्वालिटी लाइफ इंडेक्स-2023 भयावह तस्वीर प्रस्तुत करती है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक भारत दुनिया का दूसरा सर्वाधिक प्रदूषित देश और दिल्ली सर्वाधिक प्रदूषित शहर है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक पूरे भारत में एक भी जगह ऐसी नहीं है जो विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के स्वच्छ हवा के मानकों पर खरी उतरती हो ।

Himalaya Seva Sangh, an NGO, has just launched a "Himalayan Water Portal" - www.himalayanwater.org. Quoting from their site:
Request for comments on the draft guideline of "Nirmal Vidyalaya Puraskar"
WES-Net is collecting feedback to forward to the Government on a new proposed scheme called "Nirmal Vidyalaya Puraskar" on the lines of "Nirmal Gram Puraskar".

Just back from a trip home (Chhattisgarh).
The Water Portal and Arghyam mentioned in an article in the Hindu
Water-related targets can benefit from community and NGO involvement and oversight, supplementing slow political processes. NGOs such as Arghyam have considerable financial and advocacy resources to influence policy and intervene directly in the area of water.
