VIKSAT (Vikram Sarabhai Centre for Development Interaction), established in 1977, is an activity of the Nehru Foundation for Development (NFD), Ahmedabad. VIKSAT, engaged in promotion of participatory management of natural resources, believes that the goal of sustainability in natural resources development and management can be achieved only through decisive participation of the local communities aided by an enabling role of the government agencies.
VIKSAT is looking for a Project Associate (Agriculture) to be based at the Kheroj Field Office, in Sabarkantha District.
Work Profile:
VIKSAT is implementing sustainable natural resource management and livelihood activities through its Field Office at Kheroj. Kheroj is located between Khedbrahma and Ambaji in Sabarkantha district. The person will be responsible for
promotion & implementation of micro irrigation systems, promoting appropriate agricultural practices, field demonstrations, impact assessment, watershed development, etc.
Qualification:
Post-graduates or Graduates with two years experience, in Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Rural Studies (Agronomy) or relevant discipline.
Experience:
Preference will be given to those with relevant experience in the NGO/development sector, especially in the field of agriculture extension, microirrigation, watershed development, community mobilization, etc..
