The flagship programmes of Government of India Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) and National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) are being implemented by State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM) Jharkhand, Government of Jharkhand. A state level society Programme Management Unit has been functional for planning, monitoring and support in programme implementation.
National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) guideline makes provision for the State level Water and Sanitation Support Organisation for taking up various support activities under drinking water and sanitation sector.
Job description:State Co-ordinator (Sanitation and Hygiene) shall be nodal person for promotion of sanitation and hygiene programme in the rural areas of Jharkhand. She/he shall work for accelerating the implementation of Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) and create system for thoroughly clean society. She/he shall provide technical inputs for designing, planning and implementing of water, sanitation and hygiene promotion interventions.
Qualifications:
- Post-Graduate degree in Social Science/ Rural Development or Public Health or a closely related field from a reputable university.
- At least 7 years work experience in rural development sector. Candidates with experiences in rural sanitation (TSC) are desirable.
- Good understanding of Water and Sanitation Policy Reforms, and experience in programme implementation.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills in Hindi and English.
- Knowledge & ability to use computers, especially MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) including graphics.
- Ability to work independently without any secretarial support.
