Description:
National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is a premier institute for research, training and information dissemination in urban development and management. Established in 1976, as an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act, the Institute enjoys the support and commitment of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, State Governments, urban and regional development authorities and other agencies concerned with urban issues.
I. Position: Professor
Essential qualification:
- Ph. D (or post-graduate with recognized published research work) in any social science discipline / urban and regional planning / management with specialization in the required field.
- High quality publications in the required field in refereed journals.
Experience:
15 years experience in research/teaching /training in urban affairs out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent position.
Age:
Maximum 55 years. Age relaxation as per GoI rules, in case the candidate belongs to SC/ST Category.
Remuneration:
In the pay band 4 of pay scale Rs. 37,400-67,000 + Grade Pay Rs.8,700/- (Rs.14,300-400-18,300 Pre-revised) with central government allowances.

II. Position: Associate professor
Essential qualification:
- Ph. D (or post-graduate with recognized published research work) in any social science discipline / urban and regional planning / management with specialization in the required field.
- High quality publications in the required field in refereed journals.
Experience:
10 years experience in research/teaching/training in urban affairs out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent position.
Age:
Maximum 50 years. Age relaxation as per GoI rules, in case the candidate belongs to SC/ST Category.
