The Department of Drinking Water Supply complements the efforts of the State Governments in providing safe drinking water and sanitation to the rural masses of India. Programmes for drinking water supply and sanitation have been under implementation ever since the inception of the first five year plan.
The post is required to be filled up on deputation (including short-term contract)/absorption basis from among officers of the central/state governments/UTs/statutory organizations/autonomous statutory bodies/public sector undertakings/universities/recognized research institutions.
Qualification:
- Degree in civil engineering of a recognized university or institute or equivalent
- Master's degree in public health engineering of a recognized university/institute or equivalent
- Ten years experience in investigation, design construction and operation of water supply and sewerage installations including one year in urban sector or rural sector with experience in desalination, defluoridation, iron removal, water harvesting structures
