CSPC

Coastal Salinity Prevention Cell (CSPC) is a joint initiative of Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India), Ambuja Cement Foundation and Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT). CSPC has a mandate to work on issues addressing livelihood enhancement of communities affected by increasing salinity ingress in the coastal areas. CSPC is looking for two professionals to coordinate and manage the Water and Sanitation (WASH) and Natural Resource Management (NRM) Programme of CSPC.

Job description

CSPC in partnership with various stakeholders has been working in drinking water and sanitation activities in coastal areas of Gujarat. Overall approach of the CSPC is to integrate efforts of multi stakeholder’s efforts on drinking water, sanitation and personal hygiene in context of rural coastal communities. The approach also envisages equal importance on capacity building of the communities and institutional building in the form of Water Committees to implement, operate and manage the drinking water projects in a sustainable manner and improved sanitation situation in coastal villages.

Program Associate (Drinking Water and Sanitation)

Experience
The candidate should have relevant experience in;

  • Working in a multi stakeholder partnership programme,
  • Core competencies in managing drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion projects through community participation
  • Coordination and networking with partner organizations such as Non-Government organisations, Government departments, Institutes and other resource agencies
  • Project monitoring and evaluation, report writing, impact assessment, benchmarking, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and writing skills and Ability to lead as well as work as a member of a team;
  • Training and capacity building of rural community on various aspects relating to women empowerment, inclusion, institutional building, etc.
  • Organizing seminars and workshops for implementation partners, conducting meetings, monitor day-to-day project activities, reporting and documentation

The person will be primarily responsible for providing support for coordination, monitoring and management of water and sanitation activities at CSPC. The incumbent should be an innovative thinker, self-initiative, idea incubator and have holistic approach in understanding the community based approaches in a development environment.

Qualification
The candidates should:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Social Science / Rural Management / Development/ or Bachelor in Engineering;
  • Have experience ranging from three to five years in community-based rural development; specifically in the areas of drinking water, water resource management, environmental sanitation, health & hygiene;
  • Have the ability to innovate future strategies, develop monitoring mechanism, networking among various project stakeholders including village community and deliver results;
  • Must be willing to undertake extensive traveling to remote areas of coastal Gujarat;
  • Should have a good writing and speaking ability in English and Gujarati and possess excellent computer skill

Remuneration
Ranging from Rs.2.40 lakh to Rs. 2.75 lakh per annum depending upon experience, competency and skills of the candidate.

Location
The position is based at Ahmedabad office; and need to travel around 10-14 days a month across coastal districts of Gujarat.

Programme Officer (Natural Resource Management)

Experience
The candidate should have relevant experience in;

  • Technical competencies on different watershed structures, farm ponds, farm bandh, lift irrigation, salinity control structures etc through community participation
  • Competency in technical survey, analyses, cost projection.
  • Working in a multi stakeholder partnership programme,
  • Coordination and networking with partner organizations such as Non-Government organisations, Government departments, Institutes and other resource agencies
  • Project monitoring and evaluation, report writing, impact assessment, benchmarking, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and writing skills and Ability to lead as well as work as a member of a team;
  • Ability to conduct training and capacity building of technical project staff of partner NGOs.
  • Organizing seminars and workshops for implementation partners, conducting meetings, monitor day-to-day project activities, reporting and documentation

The person will be primarily responsible for providing technical support for coordination, monitoring and management Participatory Irrigation Management, NRM and Micro Irrigation based Lift Irrigation projects. The incumbent should be an innovative thinker, self-initiative, idea incubator and have holistic approach in understanding the community-based approaches in a development environment.

Qualification
The candidates should:

  • Have a Diploma/degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Have experience ranging from three to five years in NRM based projects; specifically in the areas of water resource, irrigation, salinity ingress etc;
  • Have the ability to innovate future strategies, develop monitoring mechanism, networking among various project stakeholders including village community
  • and deliver results;
  • Must be willing to undertake extensive traveling to remote areas of coastal Gujarat;
  • Have a good writing and speaking ability in English and Gujarati and possess excellent computer skills.

Remuneration
Ranging from Rs.3.60 lakh to Rs. 4.20 lakh per annum depending upon experience, competency and skills of the candidate.

The position is based at Ahmedabad office; and need to travel around 10-14 days a month across coastal districts of Gujarat.
