Description:
The four-year project Improved Rice-Based Rainfed Agricultural Systems (IRRAS) is a Catholic Relief Services (CRS) project, in partnership with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), and funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The project aims to improve rice-based rainfed agriculture system in Bihar through the strengthening and linkage of an integrated agricultural research and extension systems. The project will be implemented in Aurangabad, Champaran and Sitamarhi districts of Bihar and reach 50,000 farmers.

Job description:
The IRRAS Project Manager (PM) will have the overall responsibility of managing the project in respective district. S/he will be based in the district headquarter with at least 40% travel (8 days per month) to project villages. The Project Manager will provide strategic management support to the district project team to ensure high quality implementation of the IRRAS project. S/he will further support staff to actively engage and coordinate with communities and community leaders for effective project implementation.
Qualifications:
• Preferably M.Sc. (Crop production/agronomy/plant breeding) with minimum 2 years project management experience; 5 years of agriculture project management and research can replace educational requirements.
• Fluency in English and Hindi is required.
• Strong English writing skills.
• Proficiency in using computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet required)
