Action for Social Advancement (ASA)'s approach to development is firmly founded upon participatory action at the community level. ASA invites applications for the position of Agriculture Marketing Specialist, Bhopal.
Description:
Agriculture Marketing Specialist: Linking farmers, especially the small farmers, with the mainstream agriculture market and the value chain is one of the challenging tasks in India. Without such integration with the market the expected growth in agriculture cannot be achieved. Combined with this factor the depleting natural resources base, uncertainty in rainfall, low irrigation facility etc. weaken ability of the farmers to maintain decent livelihood through agriculture
ASA, in response to this issue has been adopting a strategy of developing land and water resources development, agriculture productivity enhancement and building multi-tier farmers’ organisations to link up with the agribusiness market
ASA has promoted 21 Farmer Producers’ Company (FPC), covering nearly 35000-40000 small farmers of M.P. and Bihar and has been providing professional support to them for agribusiness. On an average each FPC does about Rs 1 crore of annual business turnover.
Requirement:
- ASA is looking for candidate who can provide support to about 20-25 FPCs for marketing of their produces (seeds, crops, agri-inputs, soybean, cotton, chillies, etc.)
- The person needs to be dynamic and with extensive experience in agribusiness as mandatory requirement
- Minimum experience required is 7 years in relevant field
Qualification: MBA (Marketing) from reputed institutions
Preferred age limit: 30-35 years
