Environmental Film Festival ‘Quotes from the Earth’ has been the first of its kind in the Indian Capital Since 2004. It uses a discursive platform to highlight environmental challenges at the national and international level through films that happen to be one of the most powerful medium of communication and discussion. The festival is a collaborative effort by Toxics Link and India International Centre, Delhi. Over a period of 2 days it aims to bring under one umbrella the persistent and persuasive films from India and around the world. The festival aims to engage the audience for not only what exists, but also what steps to take in future towards environment conservation.
The festival will witness screening of 24 films on themes ranging from biodiversity, water, livelihood to climate change and sustainability. The films are directed by renowned and award winning film-makers such as Nandan Saxena, S. Nallamuthu, Krishnendu Bose and also by the upcoming ones, who have the potential to express and mobilize viewers’ feelings and thoughts, through this visual medium.
The film festival, now in its 6th edition, will be held at the India International Centre, 40, Max Mueller Marg, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, on December 5th & 6th, 2014 from 9.15 a.m. onwards. Entry is free.
