Description:

State level dialogue on emerging concerns in Gujarat’s agriculture is organized by Bhumiputra, Jatan and Indian Environmental Association along with the collaborating organizations: Paryavaran Suraksha Samiti, Indian Institute of Engineers, Anandi, Gujarat Vidyapith, MSSRF Chennai, Science Ashram, Thanal-Kerala, ASHA-Bangalore, GIDR-Ahmedabad, OFAI-Goa, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, Manaviya Technology Forum.

The objective of this event is to provide a platform to share the experiences and concerns over some concurrent issues related to agricultural development in Gujarat. The issues going to be discussed are: Need for pesticide with special reference to Endosulfan, a decade of GM crops in Gujarat, post moratorium scenario of Bt. Brinjal, transforming tribal agriculture with special reference to sunshine project.
