Swimming pools can be used as a collection reservoir for water. All pools have a surface overflow channel or a skimmer, through which the excess rain water coming in goes to the balancing tank or to the pool re-circulation pump. During rainfall the water falling over the significant surface area of the pool can be utilised to fill other buffer tanks, re-charge tanks and collection chambers. Wherever there is a surface run off designed to run into a common collection tank, the same can be connected to the pool sand media filter so that the water that has to be fed into the underground reservoir is free from sediments down to 120-130 microns based on the type of sand media used in the filters. So that ground water can be enriched using the pool filtration system.
