Analysis of hydrogeophysical properties of aquifer and reserve estimation for sustainable development of groundwater in Kewta watershed, Hazaribagh, Bihar
Several sub-surface basins/ underground reservoirs, can be used for groundwater storage and retrieval which has storage capacity to irrigate 50 per cent geographical area of Kewta watershed Posted on 19 May, 2009 01:39 PM

In this study from the GIS Development site,  the hydrogeophysical parameters generated from vertical sounding, geohydrological, inferred fractures and geomorphic zones derived from remotely sensed data have been analysed in Kewta watershed of upper Barakar Basin, Hazaribagh. The study area is part of lower Hazaribagh plateau and is part of pediplain developed over Chotanagpur granite gneiss and meta- sedimentary.

Groundwater management and planning for Siwane sub-basin in Hazaribagh district, Bihar
The overall objective of the study was to provide scientific database for sustainable utilisation & development of groundwater by digital basement topography modeling Posted on 19 May, 2009 01:34 PM

This paper from the GIS Development site discusses the findings of a project titled " Natural Resource Management for Sustainable Utilisation of Water Resources in Siwane Sub-basin, Hazaribagh under NRDMS

Understanding groundwater resources in Margajo watershed, Koderma, Jharkhand- a paper by GIS development
Geographic information system (GIS) and groundwater for window (GWW) can be very helpful in creating an interactive ground water information system Posted on 19 May, 2009 12:29 PM

This paper from the GIS Development site attempts to find out whether Ground Water Information System (GWIS) and Geographic Information tools can be useful as efficient exploration methods to gain an impr

Five point guidelines for urban development with groundwater dimension- a papr by GIS development
The paper provides a framework for proper and systematic consideration of groundwater dimension in urban planning and management of groundwater resources in urban areas Posted on 19 May, 2009 12:25 PM

Urban development has taken insufficient account of local hydrological and hydro-geological conditions and groundwater is often degraded because of a lack of knowledge of the aquifer system and/or uncontrolled groundwater development.

GIS based software solution for groundwater studies: groundwater information system (GWIS)- a paper by GIS development
The paper provides information on an attempt to develop a software for groundwater data management and analysis with extensive abilities of GIS Posted on 19 May, 2009 12:22 PM

This paper on the GIS Development site provides information on the attempt that has been made to develop a comprehensive Ground Water Information System (GWIS) with extensive capabilities of GIS through t

Artificial recharge using remote sensing and GIS - a case study from Tamil Nadu
The study aims at identifying sites for artificial recharge and recommend suitable recharge structures for every block in Tamil Nadu using remote sensing data and GIS techniques Posted on 19 May, 2009 12:18 PM

This study on the GIS development site was undertaken to identify the favourable areas for artificial recharge and suggest suitable recharge structures to augment the aquifer system.

Multi criteria analysis using GIS for groundwater resource evaluation for Rawasen and Pili watershed in Uttar Pradesh - a paper in GIS development
Groundwater evaluation of Rawasen and Pili watersheds are carried out through the study using remote sensing, geographical information system (GIS) and multi-criteria analysis of decision support Posted on 19 May, 2009 12:15 PM
