The Organic Farming Association of India (OFAI) organises its convention of organic farmers every two years in a different State. This year’s convention is scheduled to be held near Anand, Gujarat. Earlier conventions were held in Wardha (Maharashtra) in 2006 and Trichy (Tamilnadu) in 2008.

Posted on 13 Nov, 2010 08:43 AMThis collaborative research work between National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED), Kolkata and International Vaccine Institute (IVI), Seoul under the Diseases of the Most Impoverished (DOMI) Program, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation aims to give useful information for the prevention and control of typhoid fever and cholera. The aim is to accelerate the introduction of new generation vaccines against cholera, shigellosis, and typhoid fever, through research and capacity-building.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has issued the draft CRZ Notification, 2010 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 on 15th September, 2010 inviting suggestions and objections from public within 60 days from date of its issue. Starting January 2011, the "Dutch WASH Alliance" with its public and private sector partners, will execute a five-year programme focusing on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) spanning 11 countries in Africa and Asia. The programme is co-financed by the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Member organisations of the Dutch WASH Alliance are AKVO, AMREF Flying Doctors, ICCO, RAIN, SIMAVI and WASTE.
