Consortium for DEWATS Dissemination (CDD) Society, a not-for-profit organisation working in the field of decentralised basic need services across India.
Description:
Untreated domestic sewage from cities and towns is the biggest source of water pollution and environmental contamination all over the world. Decentralised approaches can provide an effective solution for urban centres.
CDD Society, along with its partner organisations, has successfully demonstrated that Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS) projects, a combination of various treatment modules, can effectively treat organic wastewater for a flow ranging from 1-1000 m3/day for wastewater from households, hotels, hospitals, institutions, housing colonies and organic wastewater from industries. This training programme aims to share the experiences and introduce technical and social knowledge as well as practical skills on decentralised elements and approaches for planning, designing, executing, operating and maintaining sustainable DEWATS units.
Decentralised wastewater Treatment systems (DEWATS) Training is a platform for engineers engaged in the sanitation and waste management sector to gain practical skills and knowledge for planning, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining DEWATS.
Decentralised wastewater treatment systems have an enormous potential in contributing to the development of sustainable environmental sanitation. The Consortium for DEWATS Dissemination (CDD) Society aims to bridge the gap by enhancing the capacities of service providers across the country.
Objective:
The objective of this training programme is to introduce and impart engineering skills to professionals for esigning and implementing DEWATS.
