About the fellowship
Applications are invited from journalists to undertake field based research and write articles/stories on various facets of the chars, the river islands of Brahmaputra.
Eligibility criteria
Open to journalists
- who have demonstrated interest in environment and development issues in India
- both regular and freelance
- with at least five years experience, from mainstream media including print, electronic, radio, online media and news agencies/wires
- whose working language is English; however fellows are welcome to publish in other regional languages, viz., Assamese and Bengali
How to apply
Send an application with following documents to ecosystemsforlife.media@gmail.com:
- A copy of curriculum vitae (CV)
- A comprehensive fellowship proposal (in English) outlining:
Region (state/district) on which the proposal is focused
Subject/s and story ideas that the applicant proposes to focus on (1000 words maximum)
Tentative travel plans, budget and time
Three references along with recommendation/nomination letters from each of concerned individuals (Editor/news editor/chief news editor)

Expected outputs
- A total of three print or TV/audio stories for every fellow
- An anthology of the disseminated/published/aired News-Clips/Video Footage to IUCN
- A summary report on their activities and feedback on the Ecosystems for Life Media Fellowship - 2013
