She was the founder and trustee of TREE (Trust for Research on Earth and Environment), a registered trust and a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance. She was integral to the Hindi Water Portal and led it for more than 14 years as a partner. She was instrumental in spreading awareness on water issues with Hindi speaking audiences for over a decade.
She was a prolific writer and has authored several articles during her career. She always kept the knowledge and information needs of her readers in mind and brought a strong focus on real challenges on the ground in her published work.
Her contributions to the water sector go beyond her work as a coordinator and editor for the portal. She conducted several educational sessions for teachers as a resource person on water. She had a strong voice rooted in the community and she believed in journalism to forward the cause of water. She was a mentor to many with journalistic backgrounds on capturing and telling stories on water.
While she is no longer with us anymore, the body of work that she has left behind will continue to live on to guide future generations to learn and understand the nuances of the complexities of water and forward the cause that she strongly believed in. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
