Improving cooling tower operations

Cooling tower operations are one example. Many industries are finding ways to reuse cooling tower water within and outside the plant for washing, firefighting and the like, while some have gone a step further and switched to pneumatic operations that eliminate the very need for water use in this process. Another option presented is the use of boiler blow down or back wash water for cooling tower needs. Attention is being paid to preventing leaks and using better types of seals to minimize waste. Taps and toilets in many factories are also being modified in several ways to regulate water consumption: by installing dual flush systems, faucets that release finite amounts of water per use and electronic sensors that act similarly.
