The following four case studies, describe the work of Sahjeevan Trust and its partners, in organising drinking water, in participation with rural communities in Kutch, Gujarat, through the Pani Thiye Panjo program.
Pani Thiye Panjo, loosely translated as “Let’s this water be ours!” is a multi institutional programme to address water scarcity through local source augmentation in 115 villages of Abdasa taluka in Kachchh district in Gujarat. The objective is to develop local water sources in the village and let the village institutions [Pani Samiti - embedded within the local panchayat] manage, protect and ensure good quality water to all their citizens.
