Targets and current status of sanitary infrastructure construction under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) of all districts across India. This data covers details about household latrines (APL and BPL), school and balwadi toilets, Rural Sanitary Marts. The target to be reached and current status of each district is provided. The data is updated on daily basis.

A participatory survey that covered 28 districts of Karnataka and 17,200 households across 172 gram panchayats (GPs). The survey covered all aspects of domestic water and sanitation.

Water supply information (LPCD) and number of water sources of different types such as open wells, bore wells, mini-water supply, piped-water supply, household taps. Sanitation information such as number of Nirmal Gram Yojana latrines, community and household latrines (required and existing) is available for all habitations across Karnataka. Baseline survey contains information about APL and BPL Household toilets, Anganwadis with and without toilets, etc. TSC data contains details of new sanitation construction under TSC programme.

The deplorable condition of sanitation facilities in developing countries, has been gaining enormous attention in the recent times. It is no longer a “forgotten issue”.Though measure and several initiatives have been taken by national governments and international agencies to address this problem, yet a lot has to be done and learned about dealing with it.
