Alternative Futures: India Unshackled is a book that brings together scenarios of an India that is politically and socially egalitarian, radically democratic, economically sustainable and equitable, and socio-culturally diverse and harmonious.

Sustainable water supply and sanitation has become extremely important due to the increase in water scarcity, the impact of climate change and the need for adaptation, and the increasing demand in water and competition among different usages.

India is the second most populous country in the world, with more than one billion citizens. 163 million people lack access to safe water and 210 million people lack access to improved sanitation. With the per capita availability of water continuing to decline, the nation hurtles towards water scarcity.

Aims & Objectives of Seminar: The prime objective of this one-day endeavor is to raise awareness and bring together experience and knowledge base for creating Energy consciousness among the managers and Engineers of Water supply & Waste water systems.

The theme for India Rivers Day 2017 (IRD 2017), held on 25th November, 2017 at the INTACH Delhi premises, was ‘Rivers in the Urban Context’. Various formats of engagement were deployed for discussion among the participants from across India present for the event.

ACWADAM has begun running a fifteen-day training programme on basic hydrogeology or groundwater science, for professionals from Civil Society Organisations or NGOs.

Gandhigram Trust, Dindigul and Arghyam, Bangalore co-hosted a Sanitation Partners' Meet on November 9-10, 2017 at Dr. Soundram Manimandapam, Gandhigram Trust, Gandhigram. The meeting was attended by various NGOs from across the country, the district collector, the project director of DRDA and block level officers.
